John McCain does not know how many houses he owns
The question "How many houses do you have?" May seem simple. The problem is that John McCain, the Republican candidate for the U.S. presidential election is unable to answer them!
It all started Thursday, August 20 A journalist from Politico (the article has even an audio link to hear the question and answer McCain) poses a very simple question to John McCain. He asked the Republican candidate how he and his wife own property.
Silence. Then the answer: "I think ... I will ask my team to keep you informed." It's like being at a press conference of Microsoft!
Then, McCain stuck more tempting to give a figure immediately story content curious journalist: "We have apartments ... I will ask them to remember."
But despite a thorough investigation, journalists assigned to the record does not always know the right answer.
Politico, for its part, takes no risks and speaks of "at least four homes" stating that one of its analysts found that the Republican candidate had eight houses ... and all by quoting Senator Charles Schumer that stressed: "John McCain wears shoes at $ 500 a pair, has six houses and comes from one of the richest families in the state."
As so Tim Kaine, Governor of the State of Virginia, ABC News: "It is not able to count so far."
It is the Newsweek survey on the subject that is most cited by other news organizations. The weekly U.S. believes that John McCain has seven houses, all bought by his wife, Cindy McCain.
Meanwhile, officials of the election campaign of Barack Obama have seized of the matter - we understand! - And decided to publicize the blunder of their competitor (see the video clip from the latest ad campaign for Obama on the subject against this, right) and emphasize that McCain is officially the owner of seven houses, worth 13 million dollars in total.
Not bad for a candidate who accuses Obama of elitism!
PS: The Wall Street Journal says that the Obama team that drove the journalists to focus on the real estate portfolio McCain. Clearly, the campaign becomes increasingly sale!
